In Plp1-CreERT;Trpa1flfl mice, mechanical allodynia (Fig. 8d) and macrophage recruitment and oxidative pressure (H2O2 generation) in the injured nerve (Fig. 8e) had been markedly attenuated. Hence,(TRPA1flfl) using a Plp1-CreERT mouse in which Cre recombinase is expressed in Schwann cellsoligodendrocytes (Plp1CreERT;Trpa1flfl mice). Plp1-CreERT;Trpa1flfl mice were treated with tamoxifen to induce TRPA1 deletion in Schwann cells. In Plp1-CreERT;Trpa1flfl mice, the capability of intraplantar injection of AITC to evoke acute nociception was unaffected (Fig. 8a).
